The Eln gave the body of the ex politician from Quindio, Ancizar Lopez Lopez

The capture of Gildardo Enrique Quintero, chief of the front “Cacique Calarca” was key for the return of the body.
Guerrillas from the Eln gave to members of the Red Cross international committee (CICR) the body of the ex governor of Quindio, who was kidnapped wince 2002.
Members of the CICR displaced to the rural zone of Risaralda to receive the body of Lopez Lopez one of the politic leaders of the coffee zone. Members of the ombudsman office gave it yesterday to his family in Armenia.
In this form was confirmed the versions that begun to move last July about the situation of the ex governor, and about whom was not known nothing for three years.
The capture of Gildardo Enrique Giraldo Quintero, chief from the front Cacique Calarca, from the Eln, was important to recover the body. The public presentation of the capture, the Gaula Medellin, said that Giraldo Quintero, alias “Gabriel” was the head of this group “when Doctor Ancizar Lopez (…) dies in captivity”.
The information comes from many people that was kidnapped by the Eln in the coffee zone and said that Lopez did not resist the conditions of his captivity; it seems a renal insufficiency caused his death.
The ex sectional governor, who was president of the republic congress, was kidnapped by common delinquency, then was given to the Cacique Calarca, who request an important amount for his liberation.
Inclusive, after his death, the guerrillas continue extorting the family to return the body, confirmed official sources.

The death of Lopez is added to the list of local and sectional governors that suffer the violence of armed groups.
In May 2003, and after months of captivity, the guerrillas of the Farc assassinate the governor of Antioquia Guillermo Gaviria Correa and the ex minister of defense Gilberto Echeverri.
The events occurred during the failed rescue act done by the national police and also left many soldiers and policemen assassinated. The militaries were part of the exchangeable.

Recently in Armenia was liberty Jorge Hugo Trejos Bañol, captured in Quinchia (Risaralda) for presumable ties with the Epl, who was being investigated by this kidnap. Other person was left in liberty.
